About the project
Living the War is a non-profit documentary project that shows people’s real lives during the Russian war in Ukraine through personal stories and photographic evidence, using various media forms since February 24, 2022.
The project was founded in Kyiv in May 2022. We aim to answer one of the most popular questions from the international community: How do you live there during the war? Although it’s impossible to fully understand without being there, we believe that one of the best ways to find answers is through people’s personal stories and photo documentation. We publish a series
of books, and an online journal, and organise photo exhibitions in cooperation with our partners.
