When submitting your application, you’ll have the opportunity to indicate which mentor you’d like to work with. However, your final mentor may differ depending on the selection process.

The Environment and the war: impact on people’s lives, local communities, and global ecosystems.

Describe the idea for your photo project and your vision for its realization.
Attach your portfolio in PDF format.
You must be 30 or younger and working in Ukraine to apply.
What does the program include?
2.5 months of research and work with mentors
10 lectures with your mentor + meetings and discussions with invited experts
60,000 UAH scholarship
A final photo exhibition in Kyiv curated by Kateryna Radchenko

About the Project
Living the War is an independent documentary project founded in Kyiv in the spring of 2022. Through personal narratives and powerful photography, the project captures the realities of life during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The initiative includes a multilingual book series, curated exhibitions, and ongoing support for the community of photographers working in Ukraine during the war.
